Ironhawks Drill Team

The Hayfield Secondary School JROTC program maintains a drill team with the purpose of teaching self confidence, teamwork, personal pride, unit pride, and organization. Through the use of military drill, cadets will also be instilled with a strong sense of discipline, precision, and leadership.

The drill team competes early in the school year in competitions at nearby schools. The team, made up of a platoon with approximately 3 squads, demonstrates their ability to conduct military foot drill and marching with the upmost precision and discipline in front of multiple judges who are made up of active duty soldiers or other personnel. Events in the competitions are done on the platoon or squad level. The Armed Color Guard event is conducted with only four drill team members.
